Evel Knievel Stunt Bike The 1970s may well have been the decade that taste forgot but it was peppered with all-American heroes: from the Six Million Dollar Man and Vegas-era Elvis to Fonzie, Muhammad Ali and Burt Reynolds. But for lovers of death-defying stunts, there was only one idol worth worshipping: Evel Knievel.

Whether he was plummeting down a canyon, careening headfirst into the side of Caesar's Palace, or smashing his bones to dust while attempting to leap over a load of London buses, our bourbon-soaked hero managed to generate more column inches than any other accident-prone stuntman in history.

Evel Knievel Stunt Bike

Evel Knievel Stunt Bike But the main thing Evel Knievel will be remembered for is the ludicrously popular toy bearing his name. This gloriously entertaining stunt cycle single-handedly saved the ailing 70s toy industry and eventually grossed over $350 million dollars. Not bad for a wind-up bike with a bendy figure sitting on it!

Evel Knievel Stunt Bike And now you can recreate those wonder years with this re-issued classic. The Evel Knievel Super Stunt Set is actually made from the original molds and the memories will come flooding back the second you start cranking the energizer. Evel's incredibly sturdy stunt bike still shoots down staircases, whizzes along corridors and scares the living daylights out of cats and dogs. It also allows you to perform the frankly insane stunts Evel made famous over 30 years ago - including wheelies, jumps, flips and wince-inducing wipe-outs.

Evel Knievel Stunt Bike This deluxe set includes a posable Evel Knievel figure with removable helmet, motorcycle, energizer, adjustable ramps, simulated hoop of fire, 14-piece brick wall and various accessories. What's more, each set is individually numbered, and comes with a certificate of authenticity and background booklet.

Evel Knievel Stunt Bike Even if you've never heard of Evel Knievel (and if you haven't, how's life on Mars?) you'll be totally hooked by this classic plaything. Because just like the good old days, watching Evel bite it is half the fun. So what are you waiting for? Hit "Buy" before global Evelmania strikes again. Vroom vroom!

visitor avatar I have just ordered this for my nephews 5th birthday and I already can't wait to go round and play with it. Having 2 brothers they had an Evel Knievel when they were young but they would never let me play with it! I used to watch as they made him jump the steps in the back garden and wish it was mine, my nephew will let me play and I cant wait!!!! My brothers can get to the back of the queue for this one.

visitor avatar Oh wow, I used to have one of these as a kid. I think it may still be in the attic somewhere, still works as well as far as I remember. I was just the revving bit and the bike with him on it when I had it though, hours of fun were spent with it.

visitor avatar I am so excited to have found this product and am ordering it for my nephew for Christmas. My cousin had one in the 70's and would get me, his brother and my brother to lie in a line in the garden while Evel jumped over us. Whoever was on the end of the line always got hit by it so we always persuaded my cousin's gullible little brother to lie on the end! Can't wait for Christmas Day when we can resume stunt position flat on our backs in the garden ! If I can find a photo of the 70's action I will try to upload it onto the website.

visitor avatar I have a daughter nearly 4 yrs old, on the 1st of March 2007 I found Evel back in the shops. I've got to get it, I told my wife jackie I'm 52 and the kid was still in me. I remember this when it first came out. But now I was going to play it. We loved it, ten out of ten. Forget Playstation.

visitor avatar I had one of these as a kid and still have the figure and the bike, both broken. I keep telling my kids how cool it used to be. Maybe I'll have to buy one and show them firsthand.

visitor avatar What can I say? Fantastic, its my 35th birthday today and mum and dad gave me evel Knievel, had one when I was a kid and did their heads in with the noise of the gyro, funny how history repeats itself, they are now trying to get it back off me, no chance lol.

visitor avatar Wow, this brings back so many memories! I was 7, the year 1978, I walk into my grans kitchen on Xmas Eve, my dad tries to stop me getting in! I see Evil on the chair. I realise the next day this was THAT day we all remember! Apart from that devastating news, Kneival was fantastic! I'm going to write to Santa this year for my son who is 4 asking him for an Evil Kneival. I might even have a wee go myself!!

visitor avatar I can not tell you how excited I was to find that Evel was back. I still remember that fateful day in 1979 when Paul Toe fell on my Evel crushing him and the energizer in one fell swoop whilst trying to replicate a rather daring Evel maneuver. It was on a par with the time my sister trod on my last full Easter Egg (I know you have to break them to eat them but it's not the same!) but I digress. I have driven family, friends and colleagues alike around the bend in my excitement of getting Evel and when he arrived it was just like he'd never been away. Sadly I haven't been able to use Evel as I have purchased him for my nephews birthday but be assured I shall be having a go and this time there'll be no Paul Toe.

visitor avatar After much badgering, my wife bought me one of these for my birthday (I'm 37!) and ever since having one of these 30 years ago, I have been so excited since finding out they have been remade. When my birthday arrived last Thursday, I jumped out of bed to open my presents and was not disappointed. The set is fantastic - a great 58 page booklet, wall of bricks, adjustable ramps and the piece de resistance... that amazingly satisfying air-raid siren noise when you revv Evel up to go! I spent that evening terrorising my cats, who keep investigating the noise then leaping vertically about 2 feet when he hurtles towards them (It's the only time I've ever seen a cat jump and do the splits... I couldn't stop laughing). But in a cruel twist of fate, I took him into work on Friday to show my colleagues and OVERREVVED him too fast and a cog came off inside the bike and it don't work no more :-( It's not that it's badly made, it isn't. It's just that I have to remember that I'm 37 and have a bit more strength than I used to. I'll just have to buy a replacement next payday. Oh well, 37 years old and still breaks his toys in a day ... you'd have thought I'd have learned!
Firebox says: Craig- why don't you buy the new Stunt Cycle set? It's a bit cheaper, but doesn't come with any of the cool ramps etc. As you already have these from your last set though, this wouldn't be a problem!

visitor avatar Great. I'm 42 now but I remember this as a kid. IT STILL LOOKS COOL, A CLASSIC TOY.
